Turning Visions Into Reality

– A Multi-layered Process

Every venture begins with a vision. A vision holds great importance both when founding a company and as it develops. Money, although important, has been shown in numerous studies to provide only temporary motivation to keep the dream alive. When times get tough, entrepreneurs need another motivator to help them stay the course. This is where a vision is essential.

Once a vision has been defined, the question then arises as to how to make it reality.

The following points are important when executing a vision:

  • Turning a vision into reality is a step-by-step process and will take some time. It is best to set a goal with a timeframe. Make this ambitious! Understand the steps required to accomplish the goal. From there, divide these steps into smaller milestones. This will help keep you motivated because you will experience a sense of achievement as you move along the path toward your goal.
  • Celebrate your milestones! This will help keep you focused on the positives and what is working. If you choose only to look at what isn’t working, it can demotivate you.
  • You need the right environment. This includes both your professional and your private life. Surround yourself with positive people who also have ambitious goals and dreams. Not everyone has the courage to actively pursue their dreams. When working towards something bigger and better, you might find yourself in the company of people who are envious and tell you that things won’t work. If you find that you can’t avoid these types of people, then do not share your dreams, plans, goals, and visions with them. You want to keep your energy and motivation high.
  • Many business owners plan too small of a budget for consultants and external service providers. Worthwhile services are not cheap and shouldn’t be. It may be that the people you need help from don’t live nearby, so it’s a good idea to build in a travel budget. Don’t skimp on these costs, by doing so your project might be delayed and end up costing you more money in the long run. Think big and listen to your intuition.

If you have already addressed these issues, you are a long way down the road to success.

The most important thing, however, is that you keep going and, above all, that you believe in yourself. Turning visions into reality often causes fear because money is tight and time is limited. What helps here is that you consciously and repeatedly leave your comfort zone. Closed doors open when you dare to try new things.
